One Young World Japan Committee is proud to announce that Japanese actress and singer, SUMIRE, will join the 2021 Japanese delegation to the One Young World global summit in Munich, Germany as the first ever honorary delegate from Japan.
One Young World is the world’s largest global forum for young leaders. It identifies, promotes and connects the world’s most impactful young leaders – from every country and sector – to create a better world, with more responsible, more effective leadership.
As Japan’s honorary delegate, SUMIRE will participate in local and global One Young World events and initiatives to support hardworking young leaders in their efforts.
“It’s an absolute honor to be associated with such an incredible organization. I have been following the annual summits since Doutzen Kroes spoke at the 2017 summit in Bogota, Colombia. So, when One Young World Japan approached me with the opportunity, I immediately said, ‘YES!’
Japan is in desperate need of its next generation of leaders working together to create practical solutions to issues identified in the SDGs. There are so many amazing young leaders here in Japan who are extremely passionate about SDGs and other social and environmental causes. It’s going to be both an amazing and humbling experience for me.”
