CLOSING CEREMONY LINEUP

One Young World Japan (OYWJ) is excited to announce its lineup for the 2026 One Young World Cape Town Closing Ceremony.
Every One Young World global summit finishes up with a closing ceremony that features a prominent “hand-off” from the current host city to the next year’s host city.
In 2026, Cape Town, South Africa will be “handing-off” to Tokyo, Japan in front of thousands of delegates, returning ambassadors, and over 250 members of the global media.
One Young World Japan will produce a 15-minute performance showcasing the talents of 6 young, Japanese performers coming together for a single purpose… to represent Tokyo and Japan on the One Young World global stage.
Organizations like One Young World (OYW) represent what the world needs most: next-generation, global leaders coming together to brainstorm solutions for a better future. Just as music is a craft accentuated by teamwork, OYW is an organization that honors different people coming together to make the world a better place.
Our short story, to be shared on our SNS, will be an ode to the near future – where we can once more come together and celebrate humanity, art, and free expression!

One Young World Japan Executive Director and veteran TV & film producer, Daren Afshar, will produce and has tapped Robert Koster from OpenEye Media and One Young World Ambassador and Cinematographer, Masaya Ishii, to chart the performers’ journey.
With this team’s background in medium and large-scale TV & film projects and branded narratives, One Young World Japan plans to create an inspiring visual experience that will include several short form videos for SNS sharing, introducing each performer’s character, and the group’s challenge to come together as ONE.
