November 23, 2023 – Tokyo, Japan
One Young World Japan (OYWJ), in cooperation with Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), is holding its annual One Junior World Spring Camp for high school students in Japan in April 2024.
At this Spring Camp, high school students from all over Japan will decide on a theme of social entrepreneurship, formulate solutions as a team and present their ideas. The winning team will receive support to realize their project. The camp also offers many opportunities to learn from internationally active social entrepreneurs and APU faculty members, as well as participate in workshops on presentations and project strategy.
Participants choose a theme among themselves in advance from the five themes -food crisis, education, climate change, mental health and peace – dealt with at One Young World’s Belfast Summit 2023, formulate their own solutions, and finally present their solutions in English. The winning team will be awarded 100,000 yen to get the project started.
During the process, participants learn leadership, project design and presentation skills vital to social entrepreneurship. The event will be held at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, where students from around 100 countries gather, and an entrance ceremony will be held on April 1, with university students participating as mentors so that students can experience an environment with a rich international flavor and easily visualise their future university life.
